Asiana Airline Update- July 9th 11am

As of 11am Tuesday, SFGH has treated the following patients from the Asiana Airlines accident:
Grand total of 62 patients. The largest number of patients treated by a hospital from this accident.
35 adults and 27 children
Total in critical condition: 5, including one child. Their injuries include spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, abdominal injuries, internal bleeding, road rash and fractures.
Note that 1 patient in critical condition has been upgraded to serious. This patient is a child. Additionally, we have learned that another of the critical patients is also under 18, which is why the 5 remaining critical patients include one child. (Original count of 6 included 2 children.)
Total discharged: 50
Total in hospital beds: 12 – including the 5 critical. The remaining patients’ conditions range from serious to fair to good
These patients are 3 children and 9 adults.
No patients remain in the emergency department.
